Hi mike, hope you are doing well. I have a question. I am looking for a good monitor for 3D renders which will not be printed at all, lets say in a game. People will be seeing them in their average 8bit devices. So what advantages do a 10 bit monitor gives me for my user case? I just want a nice monitor at a reasonable price where I can post-process my renders on Photoshop or something. Is a 10 bit monitor the way to go?

But I have a question: For editing my photos, which cable or connection is the best? HDMI, etc? oups... Is this monitor calibrated in all colour profiles, because sRGB straight out of the box seems very yellowish greenish. Even the Adobe RGB has a very warm tone. Should I press something?

Thanks for this. Do you know how I could find out if my computer's video card--a GTX 1050ti--will support the BenQ SW240? My CPU is Ryzen 5 5600X. I have looked at various ads for this monitor, but they don't mention hardware requirements. UPDATE: I saw your response to a similar Q below, so I have contacted NVIDIA, the maker of my video card. They say that my card will indeed support 10 bit color, and have sent me instructions on how to set up my video card to handle it. Thanks!

Idk if you can help, but I can't get my sound to work on the monitor speakers. HDMI cable should transfer sound too, but it's a no show here. Audio settings on my laptop are set to the monitor speakers, and audio is also on on the monitor settings. So idk what else could be the problem

This is not a true 10-bit monitor, but a 8-bit + FRC, which doesn't surprise me given the price of the monitor.

No mention that this isn't really a 10 bit monitor. It uses dithering to display 10 bit. I've heard a lot of photographers that wouldnt touch a monitor with dithering. What are your thoughts?
