Battleye on GTA Launcher for PC - how safe is it & do you need it for GTA Online & GTA 5 Story Mode

If you're on PC, the next time you go to open up the GTA Launcher you will likely see a message asking you to install Battleye. In this video, I explain what it is, what it's used for and whether you need it to play GTA V Story Mode and GTA Online.

Lets be real, rockstar isn't adding it to stop modders. They're clearly adding it to test it for GTA 6 online. They stopped caring about GTA 5 online a long time ago

To be real, I don't think the main reason why rockstar added battleeye was to stop modders from ruining the game for other players. It definitely has more to do with the fact that mod menus allow players to get unlimited money without grinding for it, pretty much reducing the sales of shard cards and the value of in-game money. Since in-app purchases count for a substantial amount of revenue for Take2 Interactive (Rockstar's parent company), such a modding crackdown can increase profits and maximize shareholder investment. Hopefully, GTA 6 will have a fair balance between grinding and buying shark cards, but I'm uncertain about that, since more grinding most of the time equals more shark-card sales which equal higher revenue.

Yeah, I understand I'm probably being too paranoid, but I don't want this shit on my computer. If Rockstar decides they want to do a hardware ban, what's to stop others from doing the same thing? I've already seen what modders are capable of as they can screw with my GTA account whenever they feel like. I trust Rockstar about as much as I trust a used car dealer. Probably less.

Idk why with gta 5 epic games with battleye as request code rockstar activation but I'm delete it battleye and run gta 5 no request activation code and can play

Thanks for this, I didn't know you could turn it off from the R* launcher settings. Now just have to wait for the ScriptHook update to enjoy single player modding . Seems R* pushes out an update 10 times an hour smh.
