I definitely agree with the “not coding enough” point. I don’t feel like I code enough. I think my main problem is I don’t have a clear idea of what to work on when I code

I think the problem with getting good at coding is finding something to code. It's not as simple as going to the gym and lifting weights; you have to figure it out yourself, and that can be good thing if you are a creative person but detrimental if you are not (like me). I was stuck for months trying to figure out what to code without writing a single line of code, and it drove me crazy till I decided to code every single thing that comes to my mind. The only problem now is the tech stack; you have to learn different libraries to create what you want, which seem almost like different languages compared to the language that you know. If you ever coded in C++ or C# and decided to create a GUI application, you will know what I'm talking about. It's no wonder people progress the most when they are professional programmers since someone is telling them what to do every day, and you can't just give up when you get bored of something.

That was a bit more reassuring. Been in Analytics and switched towards focus on Data Engineering the last 2 years and the amount I learned at my last job with the coworkers was astronomical. The amount that I’m still scratching my head on is smaller but still a haunting in my mind. Hoping this next job will have some decent mentorship, but have a hard feeling it will not.

Holy crap, some people actually code non-stop 8 hours a day? Plus their side projects?? That's insane

I was kind of annoyed when I first loaded the video because I thought it was going to be an algo expert plug the whole time. Turns out I really needed to hear the points you made in this video.

Thank you sir.

After having done backend development in 3 platforms, I finally suck at front end development.

If you are learning to code, it is normal to suck at it. When you find your first programming job, and then work for a year, then you will feel that you know something. You will also know that there are many things that you don't know and many things that you will never know, but the learning will become easier because you will have more experience. For example, in the beginning, you have to code while watching a tutorial. After a year of working on some good projects, you will learn just by watching a video, and you will know how to implement it and maybe improve it.

I feel like this is again about putting the actual time into that. given enough time anyone can become better or good at something so put more to not suck at coding

I've been doing web dev for about 8 years and I suffer BADLEY from imposter syndrome STILL! It's a very strange feeling... But then again I think it's something some people just have as personality trait. I've been doing MMA and Muay Thai now for about 3 years, and I get a bunch of praise from my training partners and other fighters on how good I am, yet I feel like a complete fraud. Even tho I'm an undefeated amauter fighter. 😖

There are 3 kinds of people:
Geniuses that put all their time into CS who will eventually get affected by ego.
Regular people who are not good enough to be geniuses and not bad enough to be sour, they tend to spend a lot of time studying and ocassionally experience life, that is as good as it gets, unless they want to be the boss.
Bad programmers, they don’t put the hours and have a great life experience, but they eventually go sour since they are not good enough.

Send the reviewers your no error W3 Validator results to confirm your code. A lot of ways to code something - does not mean it is wrong.

the last reason is so true curretly doing an internship where everyone seems to be so good and most of them have 1 to 4 years f expperience and my lead always said you're useless or you're very bad programmer previous days i was just so depressed for the note i'm not actually bad at coding the only thing is that i don't know much about the dsa and algorithms

That's why you should identify good practices from the bad,
