I once heard an American say “that’s sooo Harry Potter”. It was the Houses of Parliament! 😂

I'm generally very warm towards our American cousins, but I do sometimes wonder if I'll ever be able to forgive them for their past acts of cruelty to us Brits (such as sending Piers Morgan back).

One I heard once...

American person to English person: So how long have you spoken English in England?
English person to American person: Since about 1300 AD.
American person to English person: We've *always* spoken English!

That did make me laugh but the 'tea' making at the end made me feel a bit ill.

Yep, I’ve heard pretty much all of these. Also it’s really irritating when Americans ask why we spell pronounce things incorrectly. It’s called English for a reason. Also another large one is them expecting the U.K. to be the same as the USA. Just because we have the same language, it doesn’t mean that we are the same. Another one that’s irritating it when Americans ask us why we like (insert British food here) and why we eat it so much. the most irritating thing is people attempting our accent or mainly asking us to say words. Like we aren’t animals at a zoo or we aren’t the tourist attraction itself
