What's better than hauling your race car with something cool? Hauling it with something big. Freiburger and Finnegan fix up a stretched '86 Chevy crew cab "limo dually" to haul the '56 Chevy Field Car to multiple dragstrips. Will the famous '56 with a 500-hp small block run its fastest quarter mile yet, or will the ridiculous stretched truck fail to get it there?

Show moreShow lessRide along with HOT ROD's David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan as they continue their love/hate relationship with hot rods, street machines and other highly strung performance vehicles. In Roadkill, Freiburger and Finnegan hit the road in everything from a 1968 Ford Ranchero to a 1500 horsepower Camaro called the F-Bomb. Just getting to their destination is an adventure.Year started: 2012

Even though YouTube has ghosted me, and nobody will ever see this reply...rear wheel bearings on a full floater do not get packed with grease. The diff feeds gear oil to the bearings through the axle tubes.

We went to Kingdon drag strip back in like 1975, my dad had a 67 GTO that he bought for 160$ with a blown up 400, we rebuilt the engine and took it out to Kingdon and my dad raced it in the bracket and ended up bringing home the first place trophy! I have great memories of Kingdon drag strip.

Long wheel base vehicles tow things well. These guys know a ton and are very funny too.
Spent my life in Sacramento and in the 1960s have been to Vacaville, Cotati, Kingdon, and Sacramento drag strips.
1956 Chevy 2 door post in White over Green is one of my favorite cars. My number one is the 1953 Studebaker 2 door post.

The guy in the white T-shirt at 37:55 seemed to have saved the day by offering up a different distributor. I think he should have his name in the credits.

A fuel pump and quadrajet rebuild kit, alternator bearings and diode packs, a starter solenoid winding, an HEI parts collection and a pair of gloves all fit in your glove box and will prevent failures on long trips so you'll never need to use the parts but they were nice to have to share an HEI reluctor with a Mom and daughter in the middle of nowhere right after soldering their radiator while lying in slush on the side of the road between snowsheds in BC when their station wagon died just before getting to seizing temperature after a Swiss army knife in an apple was dropped out of the window of a pickup truck and stuck itself through their rad in 1986 the day after the space shuttle disaster. The knife was returned to the F250 Doug was driving 240 miles from the rad and distributor fixes. The apple was a Granny Smith and the seeds were wrapped in a damp paper towel for the trip home to become a tree for the daughter to include in the yearly card photo we've continued to exchange since 86.

If nothing else... try to appear worthy of being parted out.

Everyone waving at you are wanting you to stop and pick them up... The club is calling their name, o.g. patrons 😂
