ITV should bring them back. All the idents were iconic. Central, Meridian, LWT to name the ones i konow best. Great video thanks i enjoyed watching.

It's no wonder they only bid £2, 000 for that franchise in 1991. All the money was spent on idents. When you look at these and LWT why do we have such crap idents / continuity on ITV thirty years later?

The "hatching egg" sequence at the beginning reminds me of the promos for the original Alien movie. My favorite promo was the rainbow egg and jingle in the mid 80's. That is the one I remember mainly because it came on just before Spitting Image. The cake globe looks really cheesy but that was the state of the art at the time.

0:53 has great quality audio. You can really hear that pounding bass note at the beginning and the "whoosh" :). The main version of the "cake" was the boss IMO all the rest of it is kinda bol*ocks.
