With the rollout of iOS 13, Apple is helping you put an end to the constant barrage of spam calls on your iPhone. The Silence Unknown Callers feature automatically silences all phone numbers from a number not found anywhere in your Mail, Messages or Contacts apps, and sends those unknown callers straight to voicemail.

Now let's walk through the steps to turn on the Silence Unknown Callers feature on your iPhone so you can start blocking uknown callers.

Step 1. Tap to open the "Settings" app on your iPhone. The Settings screen appears.

Step 2. Scroll down the Settings menu, and then tap "Phone." The Phone screen opens.

Step 3. Scroll down to the Call Silencing and Blocked Contacts section, and then tap the toggle to the right of "Silence Unknown Callers" to turn it on. Your iPhone will now automatically silence all incoming calls to your iPhone where the number isn't found anywhere in your Mail, Messages or Contacts apps. If at any point you feel like the feature is doing more harm than good, you can always navigate back to this screen at any time to turn the feature back off.

Apple should just add a function to block any unknown caller period. You the recipient decide that however you choose or if you don’t want to answer any unknown. This helps some. But I don’t answer my phone anyway!

This silences calls but does not BLOCK them. Threatening messages land in voice mail...
How do I BLOCK the calls? No number available...

misleading title. i want to block them, not 'silence' them. your title says block. i don't want voicemails, I don't want missed calls aka blocked. silencing does not help this situation. if someone figures it out pls let me know.

stupid that Apple can’t let you separately block *67 calls. Sometimes I’m expecting business calls from numbers I wouldn’t have in my contact list yet, and this cuts them off.

I mean...this method doesn’t actually “block” the no caller ID calls but it does keep my phone from ringing on those calls so I gave this video a 👍

No this feature is not enough. I don't want to even know these idiots are calling me. I don't want these evil spammers leaving voicemail because I will still have to go to voicemail and get rid of the crap. Come on apple get it together.

This is not the answer, I don’t want to block numbers not in my contacts, just private, no caller id, and unknown caller…

This isn’t a solution as you’re just diverting them to voicemail which is like allowing a burglar to crap on your porch while blocking access to your front door. WE WANT UNKNOWN CALLERS TO BE TOTALLY BLOCKED! NO ACCESS TO VOICEMAIL - NO NOTIFICATIONS!!! Just BLOCK THEM!!!!

Apple needs to make it that unknown call are blocked from getting to your phone. Just silencing it and sending it to voicemail is not enough. I get up to 5 unknown callers a day.
