Sorry I understood the concept but I dont get how -5x-5 =-25 how is that possible? Wouldnt it be -5x-5=25 since a negative times a negative equal a positive? Or does it not apply here? Please help

why do part of the parentheses then the exponent... then back to the parentheses?
