This was definitely interesting, I wonder where it would be with WANYK? I would put it no. 1.

S/T is #1, I don't see how in anyway it would be dead last.

My Slipknot album ranking kind of changed when We Are Not Your Kind was released. BEST-to-WORST:

1. Iowa:
Still my favorite. What else can I say about Iowa that everyone else hasn't said before; it's a fucking beast of a record. It also got me into discovering other Extreme metal bands (like DevilDriver, Chimaira, At the Gates, Morbid Angel, etc.) because of the harsh vocals, aggressive riffing, and blistering drumwork. 10/10
Favorite song: "Everything Ends"
Least favorite: "Metabolic"

2. Vol. 3 The Subliminal Verses:
The first full-length record I've heard from Slipknot. (before that, I've only heard the singles like "Wait and Bleed", "Psychosocial", "Before I Forget", "The Devil in I", "Left Behind", etc.) I originally had it at #4 (before WAYNK was released), but when I listened to it again for the first time in a couple years, I was surprised at how much I love this record. 9/10
Favorite song: "Circle"
Least favorite: "Welcome"

3. Slipknot:
Slipknot at its most raw and primal. It does have some filler tracks ("No Life", "Diluted", "Only One"), but overall, their blend of nu-metal with extreme/thrash/death metal influences with the occasional hip-hop & industrial element is what makes this album enjoyable and fun to listen to. 8.5/10
Favorite song: "(sic)"
Least favorite: "Tattered & Torn"

4. We Are Not Your Kind:
This is, IMO, Slipknot's best effort since Vol 3. Also, speaking of Vol. 3, I consider WANYK to be a modern representation of that record. With that being said, I wish they would've removed a couple of the interludes and replaced "My Pain" with "All Out Life". 8/10
Favorite song: "Critical Darling"
Least favorite: "My Pain" (or "Death Because of Death" if we were counting interludes)

5. .5: the Gray Chapter:
I remember loving it a few years ago, but over time, it did not age as well as I thought it would (I originally had it at #3). Don't get me wrong, it's still a good album, but... I don't know; I feel like it's missing something. Also, is it just me or does this album sound muddy/flat, production-wise? 7/10
Favorite song: "The Negative One"
Least favorite: "The One That Kills the Least"

6. All Hope is Gone:
There's some songs from AHIG that I enjoy (like "Gematria (The Killing Name)" "Snuff", the title track...), and then there's some songs that I don't like as well (like "Vendetta", "Butcher's Hook", "Wherein Lies Continue"...) 6/10
Favorite song: "All Hope is Gone"
Least favorite: "Butcher's Hook" (or "Child of Burning Time" if we were including bonus tracks)

1: Vermilion Part 2
(I think Vermilion Pt 1 is overrated and does not work as a metal song, so part 2 is ten times better...)2: Duality
(A little overrated, but classic!)

(Even if Vol 3 is ridiculously overrated, I think Before I Forget is one of the best Slipknot songs)
4: The Pulse Of The Maggots
(It takes the same concept as Korn’s 4U)
5: The Blister Excists
(Classic)
Worst song: Vermilion (The worst Slipknot song)

7: Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat. (I don't really have an opinion, but it's the worst Slipknot album. Score: 5/10)
Top 3 Best Songs
1: Killers Are Quiet
2: Confessions
3: Some Feel

Personally I feel the deep cuts on AHIG are the best ones on the album with Butcher's Hook, This Cold Black, and Gehenna being some of my favorites. I guess I don't mind Slipknot getting technical. Most of the time I think the band work better as a unit than on the riffs and constructions which can be simple in broad terms but come together in harmony and on feel.

When it comes to Iowa I still don't love it like most do. It's funny because it's the first album by them I got into but the deep cuts don't hold up like the claustrophobic Prosthetics or Only One and Liberate. I think because on the first album there's more team work from Sid and Craig adding the dynamic that makes Slipknot stick out to me. Even the lesser tracks like No Life still have sick work by Sid and or Craig making something memorable. There seemed to be just a make up of a basic four piece band on Iowa. Nothing awful but the good stuff doesn't reach out to me as much.

Now with WANYK I think they made an album for me that hits its mark on every track. Spiders is still growing on me and My Pain is decent. Still I'm unsure what is my true favorite. Could be the debut or Vol. 3.

But anyways, fan opinions are pretty interesting. It may be universal people feel Butcher's Hook is their worst track of all time which I still don't get. The fact someone else puts Iowa last is funny but it's good to see those outsider opinions.
