The plant is Cephalotus follicularis, native to Western Australia. Not a sarracenia or nepenthes (2 other types of pitcher plants from America and SE Asia)

If you know about Ants Canada, I remember one video he did where he put a Pitcher Plant in his Fire ant colony in the hopes that it would help limit its numbers.
Eventually the ants caught on, and would be extra careful to not fall in, only licking the nectar off the edges of the plant; not only that, but they also learned to drop some of their trash in there too (Pieces of dead cockroaches, stillborn ants, etc).

I do believe that the amount of ants that are around that colony would probably overfill that pitcher plant in short order.

The fluid within a pitcher plant does contain digestive enzymes generated by the plant. This helps speed up the breakdown of the ant's body so the plant can absorb the nutrients. However, to call it a pit of acid is a gross exaggeration.

I've seen ants take a bunch of dead bugs and basically try to overfeed the plant.
They filled it with so much food that it died.
Ants are really smart.

the best part about this plant, is typically, some of these plants will make some nonslippery ones. Ants are actually smart enough to begin to use the dangerous ones as trash disposal and graveyards, as learned from the Ants Canada youtube channel!

I’ve seen some ant keepers find that ants learn how the pitcher plant work, and they dump dead ants and waste in there.

Fun fact!

Many frogs actually use larger pitcher plants as little resting spots. The frog gets free food and the pitcher plant gets nutrients from the frogs waste.
