Turkish coffee was the first non-instant coffee I have ever tasted. And i tried that during my 2 week’s trip across Turkey. Very nice and warm people throughout the whole trip. Even the soldiers in mountains were friendly.

To all the people(or maybe just me)who thought that the coffee is unlimited or the coffee is sucked up from bottom or etc,
Actually, the coffee is just boiling and more bubble is forming making it look like the volume of coffee has increase. And when the man pour the coffee into the cup, he doesn't pour it all. He just pour a little. But from our perspective, we thought he had pour it all . And after, that he will heat it up again at the sand and the coffee boil and "coffee maker cup" become full again. Thus, it make us think why the coffee will keep refilling by itself

I've had Turkish coffee. It's perfect. I usually add milk and sugar to my coffee, but Turkish coffee needs nothing. It's perfect the way it is.

I used to love getting Turkish coffee. I haven't been anywhere near the parts of the world where it's sold in streets for some years, so I've resolved to make it myself. A small cast iron basting pot filled with sand, a simple hot plate (maybe induction), a copper cezve, a turkish coffee grinder, some medium roast coffee beans from my favorite roaster, and of course a demitasse. Mmm, delicious

I've had Turkish coffee at the local mosque during their yearly cookouts where they invite the whole community. It's VERY good.

We use sand baths in lab to disperse heat evenly within our reactions. Also in cases of reactions where open flames can lead to any sort of combustion, sand baths are preferred. Yeah real neat-o.

As long as no sand makes it's way into the coffee. Would overflowing make sand stick to the sides or bottom of boiling metal cup thing?
