The odd request of Jeffrey Dahmer's Mother.

Did you know that After being killed by a fellow inmate, Jeffrey Dahmer was cremated. His brain, however, was initially held at his mother’s request. She was hoping to determine what factors might have led to Dahmer killing 17 young men. A judge later ordered his brain cremated as well at the request of Dahmer’s father, Lionel.

How weird that she doesn't see her own part in his behavior. His brain doesn't need to be studied. His life does, and she didn't have a very good influence on it. Sheesh, talk about denial

Jeffrey also had a brother who'd changed his name after the trials and now lives in hiding. I don't think he even communicates with his father today.

I'mma be real...everyone's just saying that Jeff had a normal childhood because they "look normal"...reality was, his dad was negligent and obsessed with work and his mom was schizophrenic and abusive. He got his mother's narcissistic personality and his father's lack of empathy, social skills, and anxiety but yet both parents needed each other for a LONG time for some reason. Just how like Jeff longed for someone to live under his rules...

I hate how his mother REFUSED to take accountability on anything regarding Jeff. Yes theres a lot of ppl that grew up in the same situation (myself) where my parents fought, got physical and all that and I know some people too thats been in the same shoes. Everyone has their own mind and personality and we all deal with it in different ways we have different ways of coping with it and I believe Dahmer was so deeply affected by it, but he had other underlying issue mentally. He was anti social and awkward so socializing was already difficult for him. Definitely made his life worse adding onto the issues at home. His parents were fxng terrible towards him! Did not take responsibility, didnt give him emotional guidance or safety whatsoever. He was truly alone most of his life, my heart broke for him. I think he just started going crazy from loneliness and being heart broken for so long in his life.
Im not making excuses for him but by the way it sounds, he had a lot of pent up anger. he didnt feel safe with people that he got close to. He felt they were going to leave amyway so his body created a panic response and his twisted perception made him think to kill them and keep the remains or eat them because in a way “they’ll always be there “ Its twisted but i definitely see the relation between his childhood and the way he started it

Honestly disagree with the father on this one. His brain should have been studied. It’s obvious he was a fucked up individual but it could’ve have been very beneficial on understanding what can “cause” such awful behavior.

No parents are perfect. Sadly sometimes a child is just a perfect storm of mental illness, evil and environment. The only blame is on the one who commits the crime.
