Jamie’s biggest mistake was committing to a poker career. Once he won, he shoulda rode off into the sunset with his money.

There are a lot of pros that were really sad when Jamie went broke, because the well ran dry.

Whenever I see Jamie G in a poker game, I imagine sitting down at Thanksgiving and he's the Turkey.

I saw Jamie at the rio in 2013 asking for a $800 marker. Sad

The raise was stupid, the call was ok.

Bad players make a lot of stupid calls when their luck runs out

I think the bad thing about winning a lot of money quickly is you just want more more more

I’m more surprised he went into poker after Full House ended

No one gonna say how bad joe played his hand. He made the minimum. Gold actually saved money here

I have no idea what's happening preflop.

You can't be afraid to play against players who play every hand. You have to read the board and ask yourself is it a pair board or draw hitting board.

Two of the worst main event winners ever sitting next to each other

What’s crazy is that Jamie never lost a massive all in, AFAIK, on TV poker. He went 2 of 3 in the AJ v KK against Patrik, Farha let him off the hook in the AA v KK hand. It would’ve been nice to see a JRB style blowup

The river call was not that bad. Hachem checked back the turn and the river bet was fairly small.

This guy lost everything on Poker After Dark then sold his bracelet

Gold might be the worst poker player to ever win the Main Event. It has to be the biggest statistical fluke we have ever seen in that tournament. People like to say it was his table talk that gave him some kind of edge, and maybe it helped a bit here and there, but the real power he had was a deck that loved him.

Problem with winning a massive tournament is that statistically even a novice can win. Poker is mostly skill but there is still a massive amount of luck, so that time and time again you get guys becoming famous for winning a tournament, but they become one hit wonders.

Poker history is stacked with the bodies of players who sunran to a big tournament score, then assumed they now had the bankroll and skills to play high-stakes cash games.
