So everyone nowadays wants to have a big lats, but if you really want an aesthetic well developed back, it is crucial to focus not only on width, but thickness as well. So here are 2 exercises to do that. Number 1 any sort of seated chest supported row, that allows you to get a nice big stretch at the bottom, with the focus of retracting your scapula at the top. This movement of the shoulder blades will ensure that your traps and rhomboids are doing most of the work, as opposed to your lats. Number 2, the t-bar row. It’s a very similar movement pattern to the first exercise, except now it is performed vertically, which offers a slightly different variation. Additionally, if you’re lucky enough to have a t-bar row with pronated grip handles, I’d highly recommend using them as opposed to the neutral grip, since the larger degree of elbow flare will now disadvantage the lats, placing more tension on your upper back. And to program these 2 exercises, do 2 back days a week, with one of them at the start of each of those 2 days. Then use a heavy weight that allows you to train to failure in the 6-8 rep range, with additional partials at the end for more of that lengthened position. 2 sets per exercise is all you need, and when you get home, treat yourself to a delicious myprotein wafer that is now 40% off with code MAXE. You know, a lot of the phd science communicators are disagreeing with the high intensity low volume thing, but I recently started doing that for my training simply because of time constraints, and I am getting way better results. I’m could very well be an individual variance kind of thing, but I think everyone should at least try high intensity training with an emphasis on the lengthened portion of all movements. I’m doing like 3-4 sets per week on most body parts and I’m going for the gnarliest stretch possible and pausing, and man it’s working great.

I’ve been doing elevated bent rows with my back parallel to the ground. Probably my favorite exercise on my upper days, gotten thick and strong.

Max: 👍🙏 Please give us an all in one total body workout video/ training program we can buy. I can't learn by arbitrary piecemeal shorts or small videos alone. Don't get me wrong they're great and I love this channel but I need something comprehensive. 👍🙏

The cut gonna be crazy. Cant wait, because we are on same journey, no where near as big as you tho. Im gaining almost 20 lbs in 2023, a very slow bulk 1-2 lbs per month. Still need 5 lbs more before making the cut. Letsss goo brother!

So im guessing your pulldown type moves gives you wider lats and your rowing type moves gives thickness? Really enjoying content like this, how to trigger different muscles in different ways. Allows you to start sculpting your body how you want to and that's when lifting gets real addictive imo

If My gym had those equipments😅 but still I just try to hit my back with different exercises with what’s available and been doing so for 2 weeks and it really is great rather than doing just lay pull downs..
Single arm lat pulls are great, deadlifts, bent over rows, row machine with different handles just hits your back from different angles
