Stalkless is not good for blinkers when using a roundabout. Finding the correct signal to exit a roundabout when the wheel is turned will be difficult.

I have already been too distracted referring to the center screen when driving. Having physical devices like the stalks make driving so much easier and natural for people. They should leave them alone.

The Yoke is dangerous. The horn should be in the center of the wheel for emergency notifications. Stalks for turning are very useful. Having turn signals on the wheel makes signally a turn more difficult than it needs to be. The shifting using the display works fine. Simplification gone too far is NOT simplification. Says an owner of an S, 3, X, and original Roadster.

Why are they screwing with Stalks, they are simple and functional. They just need to add a Binnacle behind the steering wheel and the 15 inch display in the center dash. They need to include cooled seats and massaging seats to the 3 and Y at a minimum to the Performance Models.

Love having blinker & wiper stalks on my 2021 Model 3; that would likely be a deal-breaker for me. Open-minded though, so I'd have to try it.

No stalks = no sale in my book. I’m old and retraining my muscle memory isn’t as easy as it would have been a couple of decades ago. If they offered an option to add stalks I would probably include that on my order.

I was afraid that they would remove the stalks in the model 3 two. Obviously touch buttons are much cheaper but they usability is shit. It is bad enough that we still don’t get a head up display. I was thinking of updating to the new model 3 but this change makes it unlikely for me.

It would be nice if you have stalks, you can choose to shift using the on screen display. We have an X and a 3 and it's kinda annoying going back and forth looking for a stalk or trying to swipe down the Model 3 screen

They maybe got away with stalkless indicating, button horn and screen based gear changing in the niche and low volume S / X (maybe that's why they are low volume?) but it won't work for the mass market.

I was hoping to replace my current model3 with the refreshed one but yes no stalks makes me reconsider. Do we know if the usb ports in the console wiill bring back the option of using a joypad? Fortunately my Tesla has this but now they have lost that data transfer ability

Not certain but a lack of stalks for turn signals and shifting would make it really hard to get another Tesla in the future… the screen is nice but too cumbersome for such critical functions…

Taking away stalks from their most popular car for the sake of saving pennies is stupid and short-sighted. Literally no one is asking for this and no one is buying the S or X with those features. Someone mentioned that it wiuld be accepable if the price was drastically reduced: they've removed sensors, speakers and many other features etc. and the prices for the most part have no changed. The price cuts were not due to them removing those features but to comply with the tax incentives. Removing the stalks will not change the price on tbe customer side at all.
