When yenn is with tiss she appears weak and submissive and when shes with Gerald she confident and strong.

The actor pulls off playing both amazingly

Tissaia is one of my favorite characters - I would love to see a prequel of some kind on her, similar to how Nightmare of the Wolf was made about Vesemir.

I would love to see a scene where Tissaia tells Yen that she loves her like a daughter.

Ohhhh, i can't wait for this mentor/mother-daughter moments. Also with Ciri and Yennefer, omg! Especially Ciri and Yennefer! Please Netflix, I hope you captured their mother-daughter relationship right!

It actually hurts to see those sneak-peeks, because I simply can't wait to see this new season reveal all those interactions between such beloved characters like Yen, Ciri, Geralt and (like here) Tissaia.

Anya is such a revelation in this show. Hopefully she starts getting some bigger roles because she is REALLY good.

Awkward is that I was surprised when the scene ended. Then I realized I was watching a trailer scnene not a whole episode. I was taken into the verse that deep for a minute in an instant.

I REALLY hope they keep Tissaia alive and not follow the books here. She‘s one of the best characters on the show imo ♥️

The funny thing about this change is that making Vilgefortz weaker actually harms Yen's character. In fact, in the books her amazing growth is specifically thanks to Vilgefortz being the strongest mage and the hero of Sodden Hill.

He's built up early on to be a massive hurdle that Yen can't beat physically or politically and because of that winless situation she has to sacrifice to a much more incredible degree than whatever Netflix is trying to push here. Her conflict with him makes her come out of it all as a smarter, stronger and better person.

Yen is an amazing character not only because she's a strong mage, but because we get to see what she is willing to do when faced with overwhelming odds. She's willing to go farther and harder than any other character in the Witcher universe and that's truly saying something. But now they're taking that opportunity, that struggle, that growth away and just giving her the W right off the bat. This kills Yen's core character trait and makes her journey far less compelling.

It's a shame that Netflix always focuses on the immediate gratifications like this and is afraid to have a female lead character fail. Yen has tons of wins in the books that are better earned, more satisfying, and more relatable thanks to her initial losses and how she adapts. They didn't need to rob the accomplishments of the villain to build her up in a less interesting way.
