I am trying to pass the API reponse to "Generative Action" in the topic.

Under - Create generative answers properties ->
i added the below prompt/isntruction like the below

But I am not getting the response, I tried to store the response to a variable under Advanced-->Save bot response as

The variable is always coming as empty.

Any thoughts ? what i am doing wrong here ?

Hello! Are you able to provide a bit of guidance on the best way to create some structure around the user query when using this? E.g. if a user asks "what food is served at XYZ restaurant?" in generative answers, and I wanted to save "XYZ" to a "restaurant name" variable and use it downstream, is there a good way to do that? I feel like the architecture for storing these things in the past has been much more rigid, meaning you had to ask the user to provide it explicitly as a question in an adaptive card, but it seems like with AI now there should be a way to extract that from the conversation context instead of re-asking the question with a card. Does that make sense?

Hi, I tested the custom instructions and tried to pass in a variable but that does not work at the moment. Is this a bug? Note that I double checked my variable to make sure that this is not the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

This didn't work for me. I tried uploading a PDF and an RTF and can't get any responses.
