Had one of the trucks in our fleet had a yaw sensor become disconnected from the frame so the truck thought it was rolling over and applied all the brakes and brought the truck to a complete stop in the middle of the Mass Turnpike for no reason! It had to be towed as the computer would not release the brakes. I don’t trust any of it and people are going to get killed by them or because of them.

Been a nationwide trucker since I turned 21. Retiring in 16 years when I turn 50. Nice to know my job isn’t at risk. 😅👌

So what she is saying is it can’t drive in the snow, it can’t drive in the city, and can’t back into a dock. Glorified cruise control. Once those sensors get covered with slush or have a bird strike, it’s out of service. The techs at Loves can’t fix it

I hope when these be a thing they make a law where truckers still have to get a cdl and still be in there just watching being a security and keeping maintance cause this job is my life and I love it

Interesting technology but if this is implemented on the highway then millions of people will be out of a job in America alone. Imagine the job loss globally.

How does this system react to high winds? With light Trailers.

If this thing can slide its tandems and fifth wheel without supervision, I'll be impressed.

Now tell me how many blips and bips and alarms I will hear after 1 hour in winter on road covered in snow slush and salt

My Peterbilt tries to drive itself. Sometimes it’ll catch a shadow under an overpass and slam on the brakes without warning. And it’s useless when driving in snow as it covers the sensor to where it just continually beeps at me. More harm than help!

Hope these never make it to the road ways because I don’t trust my life with it.

Let me put you to rest.. Daimler CANNOT Even fix the adaptive cruise control.. they sense objects(ghosts) that don't exist, causing full activation of brakes.. fleets have ask Freightliner to address this to no end..

I only liking this video because I want to support the team. Self-driving trucks are not going to be all that it's cracked up to be. No matter how many sensors and radars and systems that are on board, the human interface cannot be replaced.

As a truck driver, this is exactly what I want to see(being sarcastic). More ideas of A.I. taking people’s jobs. People are being phased out of manual labor and in the future you can just learn to code from home while you’re smart toilet wipes your ass for you.

As soon as the sun comes over the horizon... The truck is blinded 😂

Imagine the repair bill if the sensors were mounted much higher, and this semi had a blind date with the 11ft8 bridge.

I'd like to see this truck chain itself up.

The level 4 truck requires 2 safety drivers and my level 0 truck requires 1 safety driver. 😂

Retired two years ago from 40 plus years in semis. Last truck had automatic braking for collision avoidance. Horrible system frequently applying brakes for no reason some times with no other vehicles in sight they claimed it was bugs hitting sensors!between that and poorly designed DPF systems new truck was in shop 2-3 times a month. When truck is in shop driver doesn’t make any money! And is stuck at shop. Then they complain they can’t keep drivers.
