These are Inner Mongolian cashmere goats—raised mainly for their soft undercoat, sometimes for meat. They're built for cold, dry hills like these. Hebei’s terrain is rough, the wind cuts sharp, and the slopes can get risky. The goats? Stubborn. Some charge ahead, others wander. That’s where the dogs come in—rounding up stragglers, snapping at troublemakers. It’s not glamorous, but for her, this daily dance of dogs, goats, and grit is just life.
