Ranking Every Magic Weapon in Terraria 1.4.4 (Tier List)

In this video I will be sitting down and ranking EVERY TERRARIA MAGIC WEAPON in 1.4.4 on a tier list. Is the Last Prism the best magic weapon in the game? Is it the Wand of Sparking? Watch and find out

I personally think the Wand of Frosting should be higher since it's easily the best weapon from normal chests, same with the vile thorn, I tested it against WoF and JESUS, having a weapon that infinitely pierces and it's stationary, really crushes the hungries whenever you use it with another weapon.

Nah I disagree with the Rainbow Rod, first of all way more usable than all the other weapons in F tier and many of the C tier, second of all *Homing, * third of all *IT PIERCES* if you kill The Twins first you can use it for Destroyer probes, Prime's limbs and Plantera's hooks, and fourth... the prettiest projectile out of any magic weapon. Both the Rainbow Rod and The Nebula Blaze have an special place for me, since when I played Terraria for the 1st time I had a ton of fun using them.

Also thanks for mentioning the Magic Dagger, many people sleep on how good that weapon really is. The main issue with the Stellar Tune is that it's a 2% drop 💀. And even tho I kinda agree with the placement, I'm pretty sure Magnet Sphere is meant to be used as a support weapon and not a main weapon (since the projectile is active for 15 seconds).

Glad to see the Magic dagger respect. But I'll have to disagree with the rainbow rod placement.
It's super easy to get after the twins, great attack speed, good damage, piercing and the best part is the homing. Letting you focus more on dodging. Just dont hold down attack like what you show in the video but instead spam click to let the homing do it job.

Great list overall agree with most placements. However I really disagree with the magnet sphere placement. You just need to cast it every once in awhile and then switch to other items and you do so much extra damage. Its one of the best utility items imo

Thank you very much for the video! I was just burned out of Terraria as a mage player because I wasn't really seeing the progression. I thought about quitting the game altogether. But this video made me realize why i like magic in the first place! :)

I'll be honest I hard disagree with a ton of their takes, and can't take most of their opinions here seriously because their gameplay often features them using the weapon in an incredibly suboptimal manner. Like actively leading the Empress of Light AWAY from the Arcanum projectiles instead of finding a time to turn around and lead her into them. Or using the Magnet Sphere by itself when it's meant to be a secondary like the Nimbus Rod or Clinger Staff.

Plus, imo, the inability to aim gravity-bound projectiles is a massive skill issue. Betsy's Wrath is, for its own support function, an outright superior version of the Golden Shower. Your inability to compensate for gravity does not change how good the weapon is.

ever since 1.4 i havent gone a mage playthrough without using it lmao
it looks beautiful, pierces, has an aoe explosion, and homes in on stuff!! but if you try to use it for its cursor-following capabilities, it does kinda act a lil awkward

good stuff other than that placement though. id give rainbow rod A or B

My favourite mage weapons are both clouds and vilethorn/vile crystal shard.
Reason is I don't play mage but they are awesome support weapons.
Clouds are a must to speed up farming.
Wall through weapons are also very good for exploring and farming.

Diamond and ruby staff makes the game trivial if you get them pre bosses.

can you not switch off of the magnet sphere and use a different spell book while the orb is out? i think there's something to be said for these thing that fire autonomously and can be used to just increase DPS without actually having to do anything / recasting every like 7 seconds.

In all honestly you might want to expand your rating criteria for future tierlists, also the nightglow can easily take out the EoL.

U put rainbow gun and magnet sphere in F tier. And im here to tell u that u don't use them as they r supposed to.
Those weapon is what i like to call a set up weapon. Meaning u set it up and switch to something els.
Like nimbus rod, rainbow gun then magnet sphere then toxic flask.
If u can master the set up and switching then u deal a ton of dmg.
And can even make u invisible with spectar healing set
