Right-wing senators don't think broadband access is a part of infrastructure, which tells you an awful lot about how out of touch some of these old fossils really are. Cutting out the percentage depletion allowance for oil and gas wells would pay for an awful lot of connections. The tax break has been in place since 1926 and most would guess the oil and gas industry no longer needs this government incentive to survive.

A decent comment on what should be happening, wise words in the interest of the USA

How about actually taxing corporations? If they want to call themselves entities capable of influencing the political process then they really ought to participate in the cost of it, not just what they pump into the pockets of legislators to get what they want.

Close the corporate tax loopholes! Who cares what the tax rate is if nobody is paying any taxes because of

Maine has such issue with bridges along with a lot of over state. I highly doubt the Republicans will agree on the higher income paying a higher tax, since they are the only ones who receives a tax cut.

I would like any Republican to justify their opposition towards the President's American Jobs Plan.

1964 Japan's first bullet trains were put in service and the the first Beatles album was released.
1998 China started the construction of 36, 000km of high speed railways and high speed trains.
2021 US still has NO high speed railway and NO high speed trains. When was America great?

Thinking that McConnell is going to play nice and not be obstructionist is pretty naive at this point Sen King. Or do you think the American people are still that gullible?

If Republicans wish to be any thing more than a memory, they will have to join America once again and work toward making this a better place to live.

We need a unified senate, and we don't have that. primary that mary Manchin.

You would pay for these changes easily - just remove the loopholes that the rich and corporations use so that they don't pay any taxes.

Republicans want to load this on the backs of regular people while corporations are spared tax hikes that would still be far lower than pre-Trump.

Corporations stand to benefit significantly from improved infrastructure beyond just “user fee”costs.

Improved infrastructure moves product and information more effectively - which helps the bottom line.

Corporations can and should pay a reasonable amount for improved infrastructure.

Just keep it 'infrastructure' as we know it. Human infrastructure, keep it for another bill

If big Corporations stop being greedy, they can tell there Republican beneficiaries that they are willing to pay higher taxes, they are not going to get any poorer, but they will make the US better for all, and for themselves. Who does not want better roads and a better transportation system, better housing, better health. I mean really stop being so greedy.
