I am so glad you participated! But yes, the reproduction is rife with changes from the original. I have compared them before (one on top of other) to show the big changes that were made in this “reproduction”.

🤣🤣🤣🤣it cracks me up, that Butterick, write start after breakfast and wear it for lunch and then in the pattern discription writes let it hang for 24 hours🤣🤣🤣🤣 but i love the dress, its so beautiful and so easy to make changes to

I think you won for fastest time. StephanieCanada had some alteration issues and wound up adding pockets. Women's clothing needs pockets. I like your ideas for the front. It's interesting to watch all the videos. One person didn't have enough fabric for the double skirt pattern piece, so made it with just a single bit, and it came out really nice. I think a 2nd challenge with the same dress would be interesting. This time, not the fastest, but the one with the best alterations to be the cutest or most elegant or practical or whatever sets it apart.

I’ve seen a couple of people make this dress for the challenge. The pattern fits you the best so far. Most of the others the neck was too wide and just didn’t sit right. You look lovely ❤

I have made this dress so many times way before the challenge
I used the original pattern and it safest to use a piece of elastic with a bar and eye for the front piece that wraps around to the back. It helps keep the front tight. It does not meet at the front but has a small gap to see the front fabric and I usually cut this back a few more inches and use 2 ties to secure the back in the front

Lovely 😍 Ive seen so many fitting badly, yours is best fitting, perhaps it fit your figure the best? ☺️ Or just your great sewing skills? 🥰 The few things I would want to alter about the dress is like you said to put in a waistband instead of a button in the back. Also in the front actually, that way it would also be a little size adjustable allowing for slight weight gains/drops. I would also like to fix the armpit area of course ☺️ And I would like the front part to go all around the back just to feel a bit more covered 😅 I go by bike everywhere, even when wearing skirts and dresses. But the. They require a bit extra fabric to cover up properly and allow for movement 😅 Thank upu for this video, now I might have the courage to try this dress to with those minor tweaks ☺️
