The last part is not entirely correct. German "Hochdeutsch" (translation: High German) is the standard German dialect in Germany, but it's actually based on the dialects of northern and central parts of the German speaking countries, whereas "Oberdeutsch" (translation also: High German) is a dialect group in the southern part. Therefore Austrian High German, as well as Swiss High German/ Austrian Standard German and Swiss Standard German are based on High German ("Oberdeutsch") dialects, but German High German isn't, despite the name.
Cool video, though, anyway

The names of towns in central Texas still hold the legacy of the Texasdeutsch after the decline of the language in Texas. Fredericksburg, New Braunfels, Boerne, Schulenburg, Muenster, Luckenbach, Weimar.

Yiddish is also considered a dialect of German but the script is in Hebrew. A Yiddish speaker and German speaker can converse quiet well between each other.

I traveled to Namibia in 2019 (as a German) and was really surprised by the names the people had there because they we're like really old German names. It was very funny to see a native african man named "Engelbrecht".

Quick clear up on the high german name. High german can mean 2 things. The southern dialects formed in the "high" regions of germany in the mountains, but high german, as in, the standard language, is actually from the middle of germany (I believe it was saxony). Just saying since if People think bavarian is what people are calling "high german" it will probably be confusing

About 2 million people learning German in Poland, the number is waaaay off. Try maybe adding 0 at the end. In Poland, everyone learns English in school, but we also have to take a second foreign language and many primary schools offer only German.
In some high schools people can switch to Spanish or French, nevertheless before that everybody learns German for at least 2-3 years.

What you called Texasdeutsch is called many names here in Texas. Old German, Einwanderer, colonial German, Texan-German, etc. In typical conversation we just refer to it as German though. The dialect shares a lot in common with older dialects because it lacks the cultural progress found in Germany and its speakers are made up largely of older folk. I’d like to learn the dialect someday.

I think the Texas Oktoberfest outshines the German celebration.

German is pretty common in Sweden and is usually one out of maybe three language classes in Swedish schools, and we get a lot of German tourists here in Sweden during summer and autumn, and one reason why Sweden had such a large percentage of German tourists was mainly because there aren't moose in Germany but we have a lot of moose in sweden
