Hey Bronwyn- Brilliant, straightforward tutorial- Thanks soo much for this! Just got a new LC First Edition and during the hour-long tutorial I was given at the dealer, this wasn't spelled out that well. I'm not dissin the guy- there's just a whole lot of stuff to know lol. Anyway, I've heard that there's a button sequence code to power the fob down, to save battery power and as an added security measure. Is this true?

Hmm.
Well our 2009 Highlander Limited USED to work like that. Also would not let you manually lock doors WITHOUT fob present. (Never liked that feature.)
Recently the door lock sensor is about 50/50 whether it senses you (fob) at the driver or passenger doors. Today my wife unlocked the driver door with the fob, put the fob in her purse and set the purse on the floor under the steering wheel. She went to the gas pump to fill the tank and when she got back to the driver door the car was locked and wouldn't open/unlock. This happened once before, before the fob batteries were replaced.
Fob batteries are now only a couple weeks old-replaced because the sensor didn't seem to detect the fob[s] when at either front door, and the previous lockout event. New batteries had no effect on that issue.
What is the problem?

Why don't you mention how to disable the fob from emitting the frequency? I just learn that important feature to help prevent stealing the car...
