Being a sigma is about being self-aware and self-sufficient even while being single. All the qualities described above will come naturally if you do not crave others' attention and have a genuine interest in the world around you (science, politics, philosophy etc.). I've been a Sigma Male for a long time. I've always been a non-conformist as I just have to do my own thing and find my own way to do things. Conformity is death. Freedom, and peace & quiet, is more valuable to me than just about anything else in the world. One thing I learned early on is people often do things to provoke a reaction. When I sense this I do not show emotion on my face and rather do not give the other person the reaction they were hoping for. Turning the tables is fun in this scenario. Strategically showing emotion is a powerful tool. I'm a patient Man, but being a Taurus I do have my limits. Once I reach them you do not want to be on the receiving end. I'm normally calm & laid back but people have said when I do get mad it is quite scary.

I honestly think a sigma male is just a guy others generally respect who march to their own beat and own moral code and just try to improve and be the best at what they do.
They don't care about getting attention or being the leader or Big Boss Man.

Sigma is a social hierarchy clasification (as are alpha, betas) and not a personality type by itself. Happens that specific traits in personality in common are typically carateristics of each of them.
