I was involved in the removal of a large tree in Orlando Florida. Nobody would listen & let’s just say the 1 guy put a chain on backwards on a chainsaw, the neighborhood lost power, an adjoining yards fence was torn down, a guy got stuck in the remaining tree, I quit & caught a city bus home. Lord knows what the homeowner did.

As an ISA certified tree climber/bucket operator, and storm work GF, doing line clearance for 4 of the largest energy companies in the U.S. . Lemme say… don’t use ladders. And if you see someone arrive at your house to do a job with ladders, turn them away immediately. Hire a professional. I bet you saved a bunch of money sitting in the ER for 9 hours eh? You actually refused to pay $1800 and upped it by 8 grand. Nice work.

I've cut a LOT of trees after hurricanes but I ain't stupid. Never cut from a ladder and you really DO need to know WTF you're doing. I've used a bucket on occasion to trim large trees but always made sure that the fell was well clear of the bucket.
