In this video, I share an FL Studio music production tip that I learned from my YouTube subscribers. I previously mentioned a method of creating ambient and atmospheric pads but some of my viewers knew of a better technique using the Fruity Convolver! Here I create some ambient guitar pads as well as using a free synth to create a supporting atmospheric pad.

0:40 - What is the Fruity Convolver?

3:05 - Guitar Example 2
4:25 - Synth Example

Congrats on making something useful using my 2 hour monologue about the origins of FTT algorithm's in Nuclear Warfare

I especially like the guitar pads at 3:30. I hope you find these tips just as useful as I did!

It's no easy task to garner a million followers on quality, practical, and relevant tips and advice, much less in our entertainment driven culture. Congratulations! It's well deserved ❤

I've been following you ever since I got FL Studios in 2021, and it's so awesome to see you get to 1 million subscribers. It's been long overdue. Congratulations!

I've done industrial music, and experimental noise music since the 80's and this is a technique I've used with reverb quite a bit. It makes almost everything sound like a synthesizer. I used to do this before DAWS were a thing, and I would do it manually. But once DAWS and plugins came around, this became REAL easy to do. One of the things I used to love to do with this technique was that I would get a three or four minute recording of anything, like a radio station playing music, or talk radio, or even just one of those sound effect CD's or records that they used to sell back in the day. I take the recording and just... automate the volume, having it start at 0 and I would just, randomly kick the volume up to the maximum that I wanted the volume to be for a few seconds, and then I would drop the volume back to 9 again. I would do this randomly through the whole track, so it would just sound like someone's on the volume knob of a radio, turning it all the way up and then off randomly. Once that's set, run that audio through a reverb effect like this with no dry, and relatively high reverb. The results create a LOT of interesting random sounds that just sound awesome rolling in and out of the music. It's excellent to throw in the background of one of your mixes if you're into doing experimental stuff.

People sleep on "stock" plugins. A lot of them possess TONS of available modeling structuring for your instruments. This was NICE!!! I never understood it until you came with this great vid!

As someone who does a little music production every now and then just as a hobby or something creative to do to clear the mind, I rewatch your "from loop to song" and lo-fi videos regularly, ever thought about remaking those or having another stab at them maybe adding something you've learned over these years?

Congrats on 1mil, you really do deserve all the success in the world, this is the best channel for FL enthusiasts and if it wasn't for it countless people would've missed out on getting their sounds out of their heads and into reality

This is so much easier and with better results than the way I do it. Thanks for the great tips!

It's worth noting that the Convolver is actually a very, VERY under-rated reverb. I find it actually sounds better than a lot of paid plugins out there. It sounds very natural, lush and seems to sit well in the mix, . Also, it's hard to actually get it to wash over your sound whereas with other plugins, the reverb tends to be too dominant and needs a bit of tweaking in order for it to be better sat in the mix.

Was pleasantly surprised, as I was using the Convolver + white noise technique for the woodwinds/flute sounds just earlier this week.
And thought it was already taught by you because I know Convolver from one of your earlier videos =) Thanks a lot for you videos!
