2024 Elections | ANC obtains 160 seats nationally, so far

The Independent Electoral Commission says it will be declaring the results of the election this evening.

So far the African National Congress (ANC) obtained 160 seats, followed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) with 87 seats.

The newly formed uMkhonto WeSizwe Party (MK) party with 57 seats nationally

160 is still a lot. In the next election, if they don't do better, they must get 50 seats

The WC is the thriving province, noted nationally and internationally, DA outright win, the other provinces is way in the crapper and they vote for the ANC and MK. Education is the key

The reporter sounds like every province will have coalitions instead of stating the fact, where there is 51%+ there will no coalition. Only where a party is below that 51% threshold shall there be a need for coalition talks.

All I see about is that in the poorest, most uneducated provinces the ANC has the most votes. The MK had the most in KZN because of tribelism. And this is so sad, because it hamper the developement of a country. And parties hamper the developement and modernisation of the country if the party is more important that all the people in SA. And that was what happened in the last 30 years. If you are in government all the people have to benefit from decisions. we hope the new government will put SA first, not the party or Palestine etc.

Simple solution. Vote with your feet. Move provinces. Take your stuff out of economically backward areas and go tothe WC or possibly now, GP. :-) Best you do it quickly tho, before everyone works it out! 🙂
