The most common Honda Ruckus part to go bad

The Honda ruckus and metropolitan is one of the most reliable scooters out there. The one issue we seem to see the most is of course carb cleans and. Batteries, but the one part we see go out the most is the fuel pump. This generally happens if the scooter has been sitting around not being ridden.

A while ago my bone stock ruck was idling fine but when trying to take off it would try but bog out. I manhandled the carb off the bike, unscrewed the jets, one had a tiny white speck in it. Gave the carb a little clean and it was good as new and still runs great, very simple carb gaskets were all reusable. I did change the fuel filter as a percaution, I got a new fuel pump but never installed it. If your stock ruckus is having issues don't worry, you will be able to fix it if you get your hands dirty. Have a look at your airbox, the plastic "box" around the filter becomes warped, you don't want air getting past the filter, that wasn't my problem but I nipped it in the butt before it ran to lean. To fix it I wedged a folded napkin in the airbox to brace the bent part flush. Any issues I had rolling wrench has a video on like this one which is sweet. Thanks rolling wrench.
I never use ethanol fuel in small carbs, asking for trouble.

YEP. My fuel pump went out also. Good news is, they cheep and easy to replace.

I left mine alone put 7600 miles on it, all I do is use 89 plus gas, its less water

I honestly hate these things. Bought one after going through a couple Chinese ones thinking I just need to invest a little more. Starts giving me problems at 5K just like the knock offs. There are so many parts that can fail and if you're not a mechanic you are just lost because the internet is going to tell you something different every time.

When Ebikes start getting 150 miles range and 35mph I'm buying in. Also no license and insurance crap. Gas scooters suck man. No wonder the US market is so small for them.

Mine was doing that noise put a new fuel pump and notging. Honda couldent even Find out out what was wrong. I ended up just swapping motors

Hey dude i cleaned my carb on my ruckus and now it wont turn over. I took apart the choke and cleaned it and i am worried that is the reason why it wont start. Any solutions?

Hey I replaced my fuel pump and the new pump blew out my fuses. I replaced my fuses and put my old pump back and it turns on (electric lights ect) but my pump doesn't tick anymore and won't start my bike

Do you know why mine keeps going bad? I replaced it but about a week later it went out again. Also how can i tell if my scooter is charging at a good rate?

Forgot to mention the crankshaft bearings. They are garbage
