Personally, I first read the story when I was reading Ibn Kathir's Qisas Al-Anbiya, and I was iffy about this part, I found it racist, and I didn't know much about it until I came across Sh. Omar Suleiman talking about it.

I am from East Africa.
I am dark skinned
They classify my ethnic group (Kalenjin, best marathoners in the universe) as Nilo-Hamite.
Now I see how I ended up with such nomenclature. I'm black like Ham.
It is alright.
I am black but not cursed with blackness.
I am blessed with blackness.
Alhamdulillahi Rabbil alameen.

I'm glad Muslims are finally discussing these issues.

The skin colors of each son are explained prior to Noah's spoken curse over Ham and his descendants. It never says his skin color changed as a result of the curse.

Black people are the original people all race came from them.

Christianity gives no explanation of why people are white or Black and christianity never claimed that blackness was a curse. Black skin protects us from the dangerous waves of light. Black skin is a blessing.

Omar states (1:53): "The story actually is that Ham is also white, but when Noah cursed him, to make it actually worse, when Noah cursed him, his children became black. So all black people descent from the son that Noah cursed. The're doomed to slavery, the're doomed to destruction. This is Biblical, it's not islamic."

But in fact, the Biblical story says that Noah cursed Canaan (not Ham!), and it says absolutely nothing about skin color. Read it for yourself in Genesis 9:20-27:

20 Noah began to be a man of the soil, and he planted a vineyard. 21 He drank of the wine and became drunk and lay uncovered in his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father and told his two brothers outside. 23 Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father. Their faces were turned backward, and they did not see their father's nakedness. 24 When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said, “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be to his brothers.” 26 He also said, “Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem; and let Canaan be his servant. 27 May God enlarge Japheth, and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, and let Canaan be his servant.”

Canaan's descendents lived mostly in the territory named after him: Canaan. This is where Lebanon, Israël, Palestine and Jordan are located today. The people that lived there probably had a skin color similar to the Arabs and Jews that inhabit these regions today.

In short, the Biblical story has nothing to do with the origins of black skin color.

Infact Hazrat Ham is buried in Jehlum now in Pakistan and his son was Hind buried at the site of the Ayodhya temple in India . The people of Hindustan are descendents of Ham .

The keyword in the Canaanite issues is the pronoun "he" and not "they" Noah was not upset with the children of canaan, who would become great nations. But with Ham and pronounced Canaan would be a servant. In essence, Noah was upset with Ham disrespect and proclaimed a form of father-son correction.

He misinterpreted the Bible, Ham's son Canaan was cursed by Noah not Ham. Blacks come from Cush, one of Ham's other sons. Blacks aren't cursed and there is nowhere written as such in the Bible. Peace

Musa [alaihis salam] was Black skin color

The more problematic thing is why, according to the bible, Musa(as) cursed his son to begin with. It’s highly disturbing

Biblically Ham had 4 sons Cush, Mizraim, Phut and Canaan, only Canaan was cursed.
If you understand this 1:20 then you will understand the Gog & Magog Dhu al-Qarnayn subject nowadays.😎

This in bible. Not in our religion. Allah doesn't judge your skin color❤ he loves black, I respect black. They are stronger than white people

But the bible doesn't say that Ham was black.

Genesis doesn't even say Ham was *cursed with "blackness". It's a folkloric tradition and it's found in Talmud. *Though according to Pirqa Rabbi Eliezer, Shem and Ham were both "black". Al-Tabari on the other hand, in his "Ta’rikh al-rusul wa’l-muluk" records that "The Children of Sam (Shem) settled in the center of the Earth, which is between Satidma and the sea and between Yemen and Syria. Allah made the prophets from them, revealed the Books to them, made them beautiful, gave them a black complexion, and also gave them a black complexion with a light-brownish undertone…The children of Ham settled in the south…Allah gave them a black complexion and gave some of them a black complexion with a light-brownish undertone…The children of Japheth settled in Safoun toward the north…They are light-skinned and very fair-skinned."

even though you should take the bible with a grain of salt, every where in it, that curses someone because of color, guess what the color always is? not sometimes, all the time. 2kings 5:27. now read it

Islam came down as a mercy for the entire mankind, in Islam there is no race that is any higher to one another but rather equal..! I know the story of ham is confusing with how they say he was cursed and as a result the descendants are black people entitled only for slavery, .! But no where in Hadith or Quran it’s mentioned this way about Noah cursing his son..! What ever is mentioned in the Quran and Hadith we affirm and whatever is not we neither agree or disagree..!
But know one thing that Islam has no race or religion it was send down as a last resort for the entire mankind to get close to their lord (Allah) and worship him alone..!

In what Bible verse did God curse Ham because Genesis 9:25 says, "And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren."
