How to play Minecraft Java multiplayer without LAN or a server

Minecraft Java's multiplayer sucks. To play with a friend, you have to be on the same internet, use a third party application to create a peer-to-peer vpn, or create a server which is painful. This mod allows you to play multiplayer with friends over internets without any of this which is a massive W.
