Lyrics:
I'm sittin' in the railway station, got a ticket for my destination
On a tour of one-night-stands, my suitcase and guitar in hand
And every stop is neatly planned for a poet and a one-man band

[Chorus:]
Homeward bound, I wish I was homeward bound
Home, where my thoughts escapin', home, where my music's playin'
Home, where my love lies waitin' silently for me

Every day's an endless stream of cigarettes and magazines
And each town looks the same to me, the movies and the factories
And every stranger's face I see reminds me that I long to be

[Chorus]

Tonight I'll sing my songs again, I'll play the game and pretend
But all my words come back to me, in shades of mediocrity
Like emptiness and harmony, I need someone to comfort me

[Chorus repeats 2x]

Silently for me

The way that George sings the word “magazines” is the most George Harrison thing I’ve ever heard. His voice is so unique.

When I saw this as a kid I thought that George Harrison was an old man with a long history of being with the Beatles and a solo career.
He was just 33.

I am a Paul Simon fan since 1966, and the Beatles fan, George Harrison, since 1963. I had never heard this before. It is so moving, and brilliant. RIP George ❤

I love how the audience just can't contain their applause as George wraps up the second verse. Chills.

What the heck?! 2023 and I'm hearing/seeing this for the first time?! It's so beautiful and special that I'm wiping tears away.

George's talent was beyond unmeasurable. He surrounded himself with the cream of the crop. Paul Simon is so smooth and flawless as well. Wonderful collaboration of voices.

George's voice has a very simple, peaceful tone to it, which suits this song perfectly. What a touching performance.

George looks radiant and sounds great. Was he not about the coolest guy ever?

It's the look on Simon's face when George plays that little lick at the end that says it all ...❤

George is so good at harmony. Plenty of experience at that!

Put this in a time capsule, and preserve it for future civilizations. It’s about the best we can offer.

When George sings solo, applause just naturally breaks out. He is a true master..

It's Paul Simon's song but when George sings, it sounds like it's floating down from Heaven.

It's coming up on George Harrison's birthday in February. What a beautiful man we lost. The things he could still be doing... he's very much missed. 😢

Suddenly becoming aware of how much Paul packs into his lyrics. .and hearing George trying his voice at that cadence is really fascinating. Beautiful.
