Divisibility Rules for 7

Use this nice shortcut to see if any number is divisible by 7. This may be helpful when finding GCF and LCM. Basically you double the last digit and subtract this from the remaining number. If this number is divisible by 7 or is 0 then the entire number is divisible by 7

I should have added, after you subtract and the number is 0 or divisible by 7 then the entire number is divisible by 7

I have some alternate methods. It also works if the sum of 4 times the last digit and the rest of the number is a multiple of 7. However this is the method I use for multiples of 49. It also works if the difference between 9 times the last digit and the rest of the number is a multiple of 7

That’s a very convoluted method honestly. It is enough to notice that 6300 is divisibile by 7 (obviously as 63=7x9). Therefore, it is enough to check that 6300-6146=154 is divisible by 7, which obviously is (154=7x22)

Or you could just do the original problem.
