A few things to add from my personal experience, because I just *know* I’ll be showing this vid to freshers next year:

1. Strongly agree that there aren’t many economic consulting cases out there. One way is to read up on merger reports and legal decisions (on cartels or abuse of dominance) published by competition authorities, particularly of landmark cases. Note down what economic arguments were put forth, and what data were needed to make those arguments.

2. If the econ consultancy is very competition-law oriented, technical interviews may involve industrial organisation concepts. May also help to keep up with latest developments in competition (articles on GCR or CPI)

3. People here across the pond seem to prefer the term ‘counterfactual’ to ‘but-for’ - cultural difference maybe! 😯😂

Hahaha very funny and informative video. I have an econ consulting interview coming up this Thursday. Already reviewed the website and read through their cases, which is mostly valuation and DCF. But I still have no idea how it’s going to work out lol. I also watched the why i quit video, no worries, it wasn’t discouraging, instead funny and enlightening. This year was also tough for me. Had many odd-jobs, brief internships that had nothing to do with each other, so this might finally my first full-time job after one year. Also started reading and writing more, both of which were passions of mine. Gave you a subscribe and keep up the good work.
