Anti-Tank & Air-to-Air Combat Helicopter (CAIC Z-10): Chinese Air Force

The CAIC Z-10 (Chinese: 直-10, "helicopter-10") is an attack helicopter developed by the People's Republic of China.

The Z-10 , also called WZ-10, is a Chinese medium attack helicopter developed for the People's Liberation Army Ground Force. The Z-10 attack helicopter can be primarily deployed in anti-armor and battlefield interdiction missions. It is designed primarily for anti-tank warfare missions but has secondary air-to-air combat capability as well.
Initiated by chief designer Wu Ximing, the project had early Russian involvement with Kamov Design Bureau of Russia under a contract with the Chinese government, but the collaboration was abruptly stopped due to fundamental design philosophy disagreements. The Chinese designers and their customer, the PLA General Armaments Department, preferred a lighter-weight, more agile airframe with less emphasis on armor. The helicopter was further developed by Changhe Aircraft Industries Corporation (CAIC) and locally manufactured.
The Z-10 helicopter took to the skies for the first time in April 2003. The first helicopter was delivered to the PLA in 2009. The Z-10 was displayed for the first time at the 9th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition in Zhuhai in November 2012.
In September 2016, the PLA announced that all of its army aviation units had been equipped with the WZ-10.

Thanks a lot Military Weapons, you are the best! I have been striving for a video on the Z-10. My opinion on warfare is not blitzkrieg or lightning tactics. It is to go slowly, unnoticed like a sniper, and stealthily sabotaging enemy infrastructure. I think it helps to better establish force in conquered areas, and if done properly, decreases casualty rate drastically. That's why I love Kamov designs. I think the usage of lightning tactics is also why all wars like the Napoleonic wars, WW2 etc. have failed for Napoleon and Nazi Germany respectively. Thanks a lot.👍🚁

Very Brief and Summarize Ideas :

The pictures mixing the Z10 and Z19 both are comes with tandem seats, similar in layout But they can be easily distinguished .
I believe that the weaknesses of the two planes lie in :
1- Their lack of radar systems or electro-optical sighting systems ( there is a multi-channel electro-optical reconnaissance, surveillance and targeting complex at the front of the nose of the plane ) on top of the main propeller in a way that allows it to operate from behind the terrains and Ground obstacles and conducting pop-up attacks .
2- The useful payloads is related to the size of the platform, the number of hard points, the engine horsepower output, although the planes could carry UpTo 16 missiles ( HJ8 ATGM with the 120 mm caliber, and 22 k.g weight, with 4000 m maximum ranges, or the HJ9 ATGM with 152 mm caliber, 37 kg weight, with maximum range of 5500 m ) compared to the ah-64 apache, Mi-28, and Kamov-52, each of with maximum load of 16 missiles ( the Soviet / Russian caliber 130 mm, 9K121Vikhr, with 45 kg weight, range 10-12 km, the older 9M120 Ataka with its caliber 130 mm, 49.5 kg weight and the 4000 m maximum range, the DY american agm-114 hellfire caliber 152 mm ) .

However, I believe that the Chinese Air Force PLAAF or Chinese Army Aviation believes that :
The smaller size with a stronger engine and design promote the aircraft’s aerodynamic performance, which means very agile, maneuverable and nimble and with smaller size comes reduction in radar / infrared signatures and the ability to deploy larger numbers of these attack helicopters, instead of focussing on deploying fewer platforms from higher category with enhanced designing specifications, combat and operational capabilities ...
All of these advantages compensate for the difference in useful payload and lower armor levels (Although the main parts of the plane are made of bulletproof titanium offering protection against 12.7mm /14.5mm armor piercing rounds maybe even against higher calibers, the cockpit, engine compartment and the fuel tank) compared to its DY american competitor.

The equation of weight to the hull's ability to increase armor with the useful payload, then the size of the engine to fuel consumption, all play roles in determining the technical and design specifications, as well as combat and operational requirements ...

The light weight of first gen Z10 was due to limitation of Chinese made engine not enough power, and US refused to sell jet engines to china. The advancement of indigenous engine added more protection to cabin and weight in later versions.

I've never seen this helicopter take off with a missile. The engine seems to be underpowered.
