I didn't know any better, I'd say that this is the beginning of the Dark Multiverse (if you have known about the Dark Multiverse from DC Comics). Try looking up the Batmen of the Dark Multiverse; can you imagine facing a team of evil and nighmarish versions of Sonic, or evil and nightmarish versions of yourself. If that were to be possible, you might come face-to-face with an evil version of Sonic that somehow obtained your powers and abilities.
