Windows 10 Update 20H2 Fails to Install FIX [Solution]

The November 2020 Cumulative Update and now you'll finally Update Windows 10 to version 1909.

The new Windows 10 v20H2 comes with a a lot of new features, but it also bring some bugs and problemd. This guide will help you fix the most common ones.

Gods I'm really anxious about trying this because my PC hasn't updated from windows update, properly at all for a while now... it always gives the same error and now I have a yellow text saying how my pc is behind in security patches/fixes... I'm going to try the link... ;;

It seems to me this update failure is on Microsoft. Given the many videos on this subject, it's a widespread problem. Even the troubleshooter isn't fixing the problem.

FIXED!! Just clicked the MS link in your description and clicked the ""Windows 10 October 2020 Update" not the "Download tool now". All done, now on 20H2.. life goes on.... Thank you! 😊

The second option has worked for me, stopping the update services and renaming the SoftwareDistribution folder, then uninstalling Conexant Audio Drivers from device manager plus removed all sound devices. Many thanks for this fix.

Guys for all of you that have problems and this video will not help you, then I have a solution that worked for me. Go into CMD as admin and type reagentc /disable, press enter, then type reagentc /enable. Exit CMD. Factory reset your computer, ( I reset whole computer, files, windows etc.) Note that resetting will take a while for it to finish. After I resetted I tried to update to 20h2 and it worked like a charm. So if you dont have a problem resetting your pc, then try this. EDIT: I couldnt resett my computer without the reagentc commands, very weird. But you might be able to do it without, so try that first.

What caused my problem was a USB bluetooth adapter. Try unplugging all peripherals (webcams, USB adapters, etc) except for your keyboard, mouse, and monitor and give it another shot. That may work for some.

Im having a problem with the Windows update version 20h2 for a week now . Every time in downloading manually the update it crashes when it gets to the installing part . I haven't done any of the tips that you have given us . After doing the second "tip" and restarting my laptop and again going for the update will it crash or will it do what ever it has to do without any issues . Recent Update to Windows 20H2 when double clicking a file instead of opening the file it sends them straight to the recycle bin.
