What? You make this so easy. Thank you so much for clarifying what my "Theory of Matrices" professor could not.

I just figured out how to find the inverse of a matrix on my calculator and that I can convert the decimal notation to fractions as well. :) Useful little tip.

In 4:51, why are diagonal values of matrix L not all one? (L2, 2 = 1/4 in this case).
Whereas, in your shortcut way calculating LU video, matrix L should have all one diagonal values.

at 3:32 we got E1 . But according to definition elementary matrix are matrix obtained by performing only 1 row operation on identity matrix . But there we performed 2 operation on identity matrix. So how can we say it is still elementary matrix ? or am i missing something ?

man matrices has to be the most boring topic in all of maths (apart from statistics obviously) how anyone can find this interesting is beyond me. Thanks for the video. very well explained

The quote at the end is funny if you think about it after you take a math exam.

Great video!
However the elementary matrices at the top at 9:05 have been written in reverse order

9:08 E3 and E1 are out of order on the top line

God bless u for this clear explanations. however, i think there is a little mistake. The inverse of E1 doesn't seem to be correct

thank u so much. i was confused initially, bt now i got it right

Thank you that's was great, but I have 1 question please- do you calculate the inverse of E as usual ? with the I matrix ? or there is a shortcut for it ?

So the diagonal of L doesn’t necessarily need to be always 1?

Question is LU Decomposition the same as LU Factorization?
