Dizziness - Thyroid and Brain Symptoms (And how to fix them!) // Thyroid symptoms can cause problems throughout the body and one of the main areas of impact is the brain. Most of the time, doctors don’t understand this connection, which leads patients to be referred from specialist to specialist without any real answers. In today’s video, we cover the three most common reasons why hypothyroid problems can lead to brain symptoms like dizziness. We’ll also discuss natural and holistic strategies for supporting these thyroid issues, so you can start feeling better.

Hashimotos with nodules and mal de debarquement syndrome for over five years after a night flight. I am on two thyroid meds. I am dizzy 24/7 with swaying, rocking, bobbing and brain fog. MRIs of the brain are normal. No brain tumor. I walked onto a plane as a normal person and became disabled by the next day. I have low vitamin D, low testosterone as a post menopausal woman. I also have high cholesterol but not on any meds. I need the MdDS to go away. It is a living nightmare.

This is what worked for me to stop dizziness. I was on armor thyroid for over a year. I switched back to my old medication unithyroid. I immediately felt better.

I was diagnosed with Menier's disease, because I was so dizzy, specially after a very stressful event. Then 2 years later My thyroid levels were very high and I had multiple noodles, one of them very big and some time painful. I was treated with radioactive iodine, to cancel my thyroid. I haven't had a dizzy spell ever since. I guess I never had Menier's after all. It was a thyroid problem all alone.

Wow. Someone who actually put thyroid and vertigo together. I have hypothyroidism and sometimes my vertigo puts me in the ER. I see both an endo and nuero. Are these the only two doctors that can help; specialists? They are just as stumped as i am.

Wow! There was so much helpful info just in this short video. I have been dealing with all three types of dizziness. The vertigo or spinning room comes from an acoustic neuroma that I had removed 35 years ago but the tilting room started 19 years ago and the lightheaded feeling started about 2.5 years ago. About a year ago I stopped all dairy and gluten because my GI doctor suggested that for IBS and I found out that I was allergic too. I also noticed that eating salt helped my dizziness so started adding more salt to my food. And I have added about half of the other vitamins/supplements mentioned due to suggestions from different doctors. None of it was suggested for dizziness but I have noticed far less dizziness the last 6 months. I will definitely be subscribing to see what other interesting insight you might share!

I had my fist bbpv, vertigo episode in 2020. My mom died in 2019, then the lockdown happened. I also turned 50 in 2020. Went to an ent doctor who gave me a balance test and said I had damage in both ears due to vestibular neuritis. I also have hashimotos. Been taking desiccated thyroid for over 15 years and it has never been stable. Now doctors want me to take synthroid. Seeing a functional neurologist. He told me that he thinks my autoimmune disease has caused damage to my ears, hence dizziness. Constant dizziness, swaying, eye drifts, etc.

Thankfully I’ve never had this symptom(s)…..

A lot of great information. Funny how most doctors make hypothyroidism seem so simple and easy to correct. “Here’s a prescription for synthroid, we will recheck your TSH and T4 in a few months.” Meanwhile we continue to feel like death warmed over.

Unfortunately doctors in the UK will not do these tests. I had to beg for a full thyroid blood test and they still missed half of it, then said it was satisfactory. Mean while I've just got worse and worse. Dizziness is a constant issue for me where i feel im going to pass out ☹

This was so helpful. I’m not crazy. I was just diagnosed with Hashimotos and my doctor said my levels are still normal so I don’t need the medicine for it but I feel AWFUL. The out of balance/ear issues/ are kicking my butt right now. I saw a functional doctor a on Wednesday and I cannot to start a protocol with also change of diet.

Ive been having off balance, dizzy, brain fog and fatigue for last few months when I’m on my feet mostly. I’ve done MRI, blood work, stress test and switched drs recently and they said they believe it’s my thyroid since levels are off. I’m hoping that’s it because this has been difficult to live with.

Hello. I have hashimoto for 8 years and the only time i took medication was during my pregnancy. Now 4 months after giving birth i retest my TSH and is very high ( 11) My Tsh was around 3 or 4 with no medication. now i feel very dizzy lightheaded wit nausea, fatigue and a slight headache. I went to the doctors and they do not think that my thyroid is the problem.

Hi
Is there a relation between Thyroid and Syncope Attacks. I’m diagnosed with thyroid for last 9 years and I’m on 75 mcg. I had 2 syncope attacks in the last 2 years where I suddenly got limp and went unconscious for few seconds and came back to normal.

I have myxedema and dizziness is also very much present as well as memory loss. Why would I go from hypothyroidism to hyperthyroidism and back to hypothyroidism? I just came out of hospital as was taken off my chronic medication and had to restart today 4 days after being discharged. Depression is huge and the emotions are multiplied by 1000
