Spektrum Quick Hit Tech Tip - Binding Basics and Troubleshooting

In this video, Tom goes over some of the important fundamentals of binding a Spektrum Receiver to your Spektrum Radio. If you are having trouble binding, your issue may very well be resolved by watching this video! If not feel free to comment below and we can make suggestions.

The Tips in this video are...
- Make sure your Receiver (RX) and Transmitter (TX) are compatible! Surface rxs are only for surface radios and vice versa for air.
- Check the protocol/modulation type of your devices! Many older receivers are obsolete and do not work with newer tech. The Spec chart on the devices product page and manual will help you clarify.
- Make sure when you bind that the rx and tx are at least 1 meter apart! Too close and the bind will fail.
- Make sure you have adequate power to your receiver! A week power source or dead rx battery can cause binding issues.
- Check your polarity! It is possible to plug in a Servo/ESC/Battery lead in backwards to your rx. This will cause the rx to not operate or bind
- IF using AS3X, SAFE or AVC, make sure you allow the rx to initialize propperly. This means putting the model down on its wheels and motionless for a short period of time.

My DX6e would bind all the time. Now I can not get it to bind any more. What a pain. Done with Spectrum products!

When calibrating a receiver should I do it with servos unplugged from receiver or does it matter?

DX6 all of a sudden fails to bind all my planes...noticed I left it On til batteries drained..I did replace all batteries. When I turned on my Eflite air tractor, DX6 did not work. Tried it on my other planes..same thing..been trying to rebind and even tried binding as "New Model" to No avail..any ideas?thank you very much

How do you reverse the steering without reversing it on the transmitter? My right is left and left is right. I dont think it should be doing that.

the AVC on my vorteks 3s doesn't seem to be working after installing a new steering servo. Now my car runs fine with AVC completely turned off, but with it turned on my car does circles with no steering input from me. what could be causing that?

I have a JR10X transmitter with the 2.4 DSM2 module. I'm trying to bind an AR8010T. I will get solid orange but no servo inputs working? I've tried multiple times and getting frustrated. The manual says they are compatible.

Dear spektrumrc, i am really new to the RC hobby and i have a question, since you're website doesn't exist anymore i figured i asked it this way, I have a spektrum DX7eu and i'm wondering what receivers are compatible with that transmitter, and is it possible that you guys can send me the manual of the DX7eu? i can't find it anywhere.
