We delve into the latest progress on Brightline's intercity passenger rail project which will ultimately connect Miami to the Orlando International Airport and Tampa. An ongoing battle between Orlando business interests will determine if the route through the city connects Brightline to Universal's Epic Universe via the Sunshine Corridor or if Brightline instead explores a Walt Disney World station.

This is genuinely the best video about this subject I have seen. You explained it all better than even Brightline themselves at the press event.

Anybody can cover Disney ride openings. Very few can cover content like this when politics get involved as comprehensively as you have. Very well done Brayden.

When comparing car cost with taking the train, you forget tolls for the Turnpike, which are easily $18 one way. You can avoid tolls by taking US-192 and I-95, but then it will be a much longer drive than 4 hours.

Ive worked at a Disney Springs hotel for over 10 years and guests go to Orlando, Miami and Port Canaveral. This train is a great idea, especially for international travelers (keeps em off I4 too!)

Just want to say this is probably the best video you have ever done. You did honest to God journalism: you broke news, you explained complicated topics in an accessible way, and you even suggested where this may all be heading. In the overcrowded world of Disney vloggers I think you’ve found a niche.

Florida Man here. Brightline flies through my city of Melbourne.
In my opimion, Brightline needs to make the most economical route from Orlando to Tampa. Disney can pay for their offshoot from Brightline with their own trains. Universal can do the same. Also in the works is an offshoot to Port Canaveral, which now is the busiest cruise port IN THE WORLD. Let these compaies pay their own way, and piggyback off the existing and proposed lines.

Better coverage than any news channel could ever dream of.

Orlando needs to build out their own metro rail.

First off they need a station in Melbourne - cocoa Florida area ( for cruise guests to port Canaveral ), also for any other travel destinations in that area / also for residents lives in brevard county Florida )

I live in the Tampa area and the 3 most distant places within Florida that i travel to most frequently are Disney, and Port Canaveral and Miami cruise terminals. It would be amazing to be able to take a train from Tampa to all of those locations and i really hope they can finally agree on a route that makes sense. Just make it happen already.

Exciting and expertly done! As a longtime Floridian living a bit north of Orlando. A Brightline airport connection would be amazing. Then parallel tracks for both Sunrail (high speed) and Brightline (local service), sharing the same right-of-way to the convention center, would be incredible.

Great proposal! And the reason the theme parks don't take kindly to mass transit projects is pretty simple: Parking fees. :) Thanks Brayden! Excellent!

Is it just me or did Brayden really up his game with the production of this video? Bravo!

We've been waiting for this train, it seems, for my entire adult life. We've made this trip from south Florida over 50 times in the past 35 years. Now, with family living in Orlando, we're doing it about 4 times a year. It will come to fruition right after we retire and move to the area, lol.

A Reedy Creek station is an very interesting proposal, and certainly within the scope of the CFTOD, but not possible until the termination of litigation between the CFTOD and Disney, specifically the state case which deals with the allocation of development credits. I'll throw a reference to the idea into a future video. Cheers.

As a regular Brightline passenger, I must add the entertainment value to the train ride. It is incredibly fun. It is worth the price of admission and entertainment alone.
