Coronavirus outbreak: Troubling scenes of physical distancing being ignored in Canada and U.S.

Ontario reported more than 400 COVID-19 cases for a fifth straight day on Monday, and that troubling trend as well as overcrowding at a Toronto park over the weekend has prompted officials to delay further easing of restrictions in the province. Jeff Semple reports.

I work in construction and it's close to impossible to maintain physical distancing. The second this pandemic is over I'm done with these rules completely. So will the majority of people. Humans are physical. Period.

Flattening the curve was to avoid overwhelming the hospitals. This video just said that hospitalizations are down, therefore the curve has been flattened but that does not mean that infections will magically stop. Flattening the curve never meant stopping all infections or infections going to 0, that will eventually happen but not anytime soon.

With all due respect, there are locations like Sweden and Taiwan who haven’t been in lockdown and are still thriving. I think the worst crime right now is taking away people’s humanity and forcing them to hide indoors for extended periods of time. Not only is it destroying our economy, but it’s destroying people’s mental health too. My father’s friend ended their own life recently because they couldn’t cope with the mental repercussions. There’s only so much people can take before they snap.

Maybe it’s time to stop focusing on making sure the healthy people lock themselves up, and spend more time figuring out a way to come up with a vaccine that can eliminate the virus, and over 100 of its current mutations.

The only reason City Officials were “furious” is because they view the citizens as children and the most infuriating thing a child can do is tell their parents “I don’t believe you” and that’s what we’re doing by showing up in the park like a Normal day. I’m sorry but the people have spoken.

*What did you THINK was gonna happen when you opened up the parks.. Other countries have a more strict lockdown where parks are closed and you cannot walk around unless you have a pass to go to the store at a certain time frame. There's alot of freedom in america and canada that leads to people being careless. If you think reopening restaurants and malls any time soon.. it's only going to get worse.
