Elden Ring - The craziest attack in the game

Radahn and Leonard are at it again.

For whatever reason, after Radahn shoots up into the air there's a brief few frames at the end before he disappears where he (and Leonard) get moved up another 1, 000 meters. Because Leonard stays behind at Radahn's real coordinates, this means they set it to move the whole character up instead of just the Radahn half moving upwards in the animation. It doesn't really seem to affect anything, but it's kind of strange.

I was informed by thefifthmatt, a modder who is particularly well versed in event scripts, that there's a special behavior for Radahn that I hadn't noticed. Depending on where the player is standing and where they're looking, Radahn can override the direction he's supposed to reappear in. This is evidently a failsafe for if you're standing near the cliffs, with your character pointed towards them, so Radahn doesn't get spawned in at an awkward location where he'll clip through them.

The image of Leonard frantically digging underground with his hooves, following the player, so that his master knows where to aim is pretty funny.

Radahn's secondary 'moon and stars' theming as a child of Rennala and student of sorcery goes pretty overlooked by a lot of people because of his bossfight's reputation, which is a shame because it's a really interesting take on this type of character. I wish he'd gotten a bit more focus in the game.

When he first hit me with this I burst out laughing. I went around the arena like "Did the game just glitch?". Then it was like a cartoon. I looked into the sky and saw that huge fireball coming. All that was missing was my character holding a little Looney Toons sign saying "Help!"

the fact that it shows the stars he's holding back when he jumps up to join them is such a bad ass little nod to how he's the ultimate Space Wizard

Radann's initial jump looks so goofy when you're actually able to track it from the side.
Reminds me of how monsters in old MonHun games used to change areas by doing giant leaps into the sky.

Idk I like the theory that Leonard burrows through the ground and telepathically tracks the player for Radahn so he knows where to land, like Air Traffic Control.

Meteor Radahn was one of the most memorable, over the top, "WTF do I do?!" moments in any From Soft game for me. Right up there with the second phase of Big White Monkey in Sekiro (and Big White Monkey + friend, later in Sekiro)

This actually sounds like a trick a Stand user would deploy, unironically. "Wait, I figured it out. Radahn wasn't aiming at us! It was the horse! It was beneath us all along, " Sounds like some shit right out of Stone Ocean.
