Want to actually get a job in your field after you graduate? A college education can provide you with the hands-on skills that employers are looking for and can put you on the path to career success.

Many colleges tailor programs to actual jobs-in-demand by working closely with prospective employers to learn what skills they need and what equipment they use.

“We have a lot of connections with the people who are hopefully going to be hiring our students,” says Carol Preston, a professor at Centennial College.

Even former university students often turn to colleges for training to prepare them for jobs.

“We have a lot of students who do university degrees then come to us afterwards to get that practical, hands on skills to help them be more job ready,” says Preston.
