Dr. Flowers, I want to thank you so much for your ministry. I am a mutt when it comes to where I am as a Christian. I entered the ministry as an Assemblies of God minister. I served on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation for 18 years. Since moving back to Texas I have left the AoG. I’m attending a SBC church in Wichita Falls, TX. “ For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints .” (1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV) If God is sovereignly determining His church (His house) to be divided, that is God authoring confusion. And Jesus spoke about a house divided...it will fall. Why would God do that? Such nonsense.

Something that really needs to be noticed here...

"Sovereignty, " in terms of God means possessing absolute authority over reality. That in no way whatsoever means the absolute determinism of everything. That makes no logical sense.

Could God determine everything in every possible way He wanted? Sure. Would He be justified in this if He so chose to? Again, sure. But could He allow free choice and moral responsibility while retaining that Sovereignty? Absolutely.

I'm having a really decent, civil, even loving conversation with a new online friend who asked for prayer on here. We never talked about Calvinism until yesterday but it's very helpful and encouraging how things have been going so far. So now I think there are many theoretical Calvinists who don't actually practice it. That's a good thing.
