We Couldn’t Buy These Masonite Doors at Home Depot (Unusable) 2021

We headed to the local Home Depot to get some entry doors and what we saw surprised us. We could not buy anything because of the poor build of these (Masonite) doors.

When I got my unit I went tru all they have to get the best one and I finally got one out of all of them the rest have a lot imperfections from factory I’m a lumber sales representative for over 25 years and I know what to get thanks for ur videos is top notch by the way I got my from Lowe’s 😅

Dang it. I have been eyeballing a certain door for awhile now at a HD OUT OF STATE because the HD's in my area don't carry that particular door. Now I'm having 2nd thoughts about driving almost 3 hours one way to buy it. I wondered why they have had one in stock for a few months now, and others available in stores further away in that same state).

Just installed a $5k ThermaTru impressions door with storm door built into the trim. This door came with the wrong side hardware to mount the storm door. Rep says that has been happening a lot

June 25, 2023 We bought a exterior Masonite door L/H. 30x80 6 panel. Door hinge screws were all crooked (we didn't care), round weather seal stop door from closing all the way, (should of kept the traditional triangle weather seal so door can close without round weather seal caught in the door jamb). Also door hinges will not close all the way, so we had to pound it with a hummer so it will close all the way. We are gonna return this door. highly NOT recommend to anyone. It took us all day just to figure out Masonite's problems. Home Depot should stop carry this brand.

We are returning our second masonite door to home depot tomorrow because they leak. Very disappointed in the lack of quality control.

I'm currently in the process of replacing my side garage door with that same exact window model and having the same issues. Hinges are all jacked up. Too late to return. Now I'm stuck fixing this piece of garbage!

Inherited a 28 year old home in Dallas, and needing to replace the original wood doors. Temps at the doors are like 110-120 degrees! Didn’t even think to look at quality control on these! Great to know! Probably only going to be in the house 3 years, so not looking to break the bank. But clearly want something that will withstand high heat! Any recommendations?

As an Employee I can assure you that we try our best to build quality products . Mistakes happen and we strive for excellence . buying one is one thing but building it is another process. There's apparently a quality control issue somewhere.

The dents i would blame on employees at Home Depot not caring about how the doors are handled. Don't those doors come packaged from the manufacturers, not how HD has them all upright for even customers to mishandle them? As far as the rest of the problems, i assume it's people who don't care on the assembly line or being rushed by the manufacturer on the assembly process. For the amount they charge for those doors, that's ridiculous workmanship.

I just ordered a masonite door from home depot. It's not one that's in stock. It's a $650.00 steel door with a rot resistant bottom and HD panels with no windows. Please tell me I haven't made a huge mistake.

Webought a masonite exterior door, the entire frame fell apart at corners as we lifted it to install, total junk

I just bought and had a professional install on a Masonite patio swing door in my home. I'm so let down by the quality control on this product. Simply horrible. How do I get Masonite to correct this??

Sadly all the plants that make stuff can't find and keep help . Never thought I would see the day it's this bad. But there is men competing against woman in woman's sports and there are pepole that are fine with it SAD !!!

The hinge screws on every Masonite door I have ever seen are like 1" long. The sawdust wood they are screwed into strips out as soon as you turn the screws tight. Worst crap I've ever seen in my life.
