Thank you for this superb vido, it is magnificient. You share the navigation with all the noise that goes with it and i find it magnificient. No unnecessary and parasitic musical background sound. But the pure sound of the navigation. Thank you from France

I’ve been across Lake O many times in our 27’ Ranger Tug and if I ever came through the Port Mayaca lock and saw the weather that you did I would have turned back and stayed overnight at Indiantown Marina. People don’t understand how dangerous it can get out there. Super happy you made it without any issues. Thank you for the great video!

Great video. Nice Speedmaster. Had no idea you could traverse Florida via rivers, locks, and lake Okechobee. Wild.

Born and raised in Naples in the late 50s to early 80s I can tell you the changes for the worse has certainly happened. What was a beautiful small town population 6, 000 was a wonderland to grow up in can’t tell you how I miss those days

Thank you, I enjoyed your video. Living in the FT Myers area my wife and I would drive around to visit all the Locks and watch boats cruise through. I've always dreamed of taking a cruise crossing the water ways like you. Thank you for the experience

I grew up on that lake my whole life and Commercial fished it. People don't realize that is one of the most dangerous likes in the country. Lots of people have died in those summer storms.

I worked at American Custom Yachts for 2 years, now it is Williston Yachts. I watched a 100 foot yacht pull in to our undershed parking, the yacht had minimal water under the hull

So most Bass fisherman of Lake Okeechobee call it the washing machine due to those storms. Good thing you stayed in the channel. It becomes shallow rock bottom very, very fast.

Love the video... I have been raised up working on brown water. It's interesting to see the little differences in locks. I was shocked they cracked the upper gates to regulate the levels. That has to cause a pretty good surge back and forth. But one thing always holds true, 90% of lock masters and bridge tenders have slick mouths on the radio.

That narrow channel you went through in Fort Myers just after the railroad tracks and I-75 was always the ICW channel, is indeed very narrow, and if you don’t split it just right, can get pretty shallow along the edges. If you split it just right, it’s 8-10’ through and through all the way to the Downtown area. I keep my boat at Hinckley Sweetwater at the Boathouse restaurant you went to and that’s just the ICW channel over there. I’m glad you made it through. I know that channel well and misjudged it once while sight navigating it without Navionics and ran aground just outside the channel, where, in spots, goes down to 1’. I enjoyed your video and your journey. And, yeah, I’ve never transversed Lake O but in watching lots of videos of it, I’ve learned that it is really huge, can get very, very rough, and has spots where you won’t even see the shoreline for quite some time as you cross. As soon as I saw the clouds ahead, I knew you were in for it! Glad you made it!

I've lived in central Florida my whole life. Lately it's been sad watching how fast things are growing and how much Florida nature is disappearing around here. It's really nice to see these parts of our beautiful state that haven't been touched yet
