Old VFD vs new vector controlled VFD

In this video I compare my old Allen Bradly VFD to my new NF-9000 NFLixin sensor-less vector controlled frequency converter from Banggood. And I can tell you that the new vector controlled VFD has a very positive effect on my old lathe :)

The vfd, also have a very important function, which is to absorb the motor's spinning force when we need it to stop instantly, to make threads or for safety for example ... I noticed that in the old vfd.

I think the cheapest solution to fix the fan is to use a bigger fan "say 125-150mm computer fan" the fan rotates slower, but produces the increased air flow.should be quieter.also with the earth problem, i would just make an earthing point.join them all together and carry them on to the motor.all bonded, including the vfd.hope this helps, just idea's.

it doesn't have the ear splitting squeal of the old one. the old one sounded like going down hill in a truck with bad disk brakes while hauling a load of scared squealing pigs.

Vector control refers to Space Vector Modulation sensorless control (Direct Torque Control or Field oriented Control), for which you're right it's math algorithm wisardry.

For someone without any vfd experience, how difficult is this to install and use and is there any place to call for help with its operation??

You're actually comparing control methods and not the drives themselves. To be fair to the old drive you should configure the new one to operate with V/f motor control since SVC allows for a lot more torque especially at low speeds.
That's quite entertaining though.

I agree the new version is quieter, although it still screams but it is better and produces a stronger motor output.
