Imagine the men that got through all these battles alive.

Contrary to popular myth, more soldiers died or got sent home in the summer advance than the winter retreat in Russia. Either by typhus, exhaustion, dysentery and hunger since many supply wagons got bogged down at Russia's terrible roads and Infastructure.

The most devastated to me is the marching of hell to moscow. they we're starving and freezing to death, the horrror story of it is some soldier eat dead body to survive because food we're cut off during the snow fall.

If I were Napoleon on St. Helena:
A battalion of British soldiers and two warships circling the island 24 hours a day; I feel so honored…

Every time I see that psycho face on a historical figure I get chills now, because I know I'm about to learn something horrible that I should have already been taught. Well done.

I swear to god. Some history teacher is gonna use this so they can 'get with the kids' by using memes.

"Now class. Can anyone tell me what THIS Woojake meme represents?"

The most incredible was that the last sentence of the soldiers was : « the guard may die but doesn’t surrender »

You should do one for POV: you are a British patriot. Here is my idea
🙂: 7-Year War
😐: Falkland War
🙁: Boer Wars
☹: Battle of Singapore
😡: Battle of Tanga/Battle of the Bees
🤬: American Revolution
😵: Battle of Gallipoli
🟡: Battle of Britain WW2
😈: Bengal Famine of 1943 or Bombing of Dresden
💀: Decolonization
Here are some other events that I didn’t include: Anglo-Afghan Wars, Opium Wars, Sepoy Rebellion, 100 Years War, and D-Day

This is the best way of learning history i think. Maybe to teachers should test their student by memes like: on one homework a student should be ask to make a meme about a particular history

It’s so crazy thinking about how this used to be the big “World War” until the actual Great War happened and blew it completely out of the water with how insane and devastating it was

Some men live and die in the shade of their olive trees, some change the world, even in defeat
death is nothing but to live defeated and without glory is to die every day

Napoleon was very ambitious, he wanted all of Europe too fast. With Spain he started digging the empire's grave, and with Russia he entered the coffin

Just for know, the lasts french soldiers at Waterloo know they wont survive, that was the French Old Guards, soldiers who followed Napoleon through all his campaigns,
After the retreat of most parts of the army, The only French in the battlefield where them.
Napoleon was inside the square, but the soldiers forced him to leave, and stay on square positions.
The Brittish, who comes after, propose them to surrender.
The French answer :
- Merde !
( Thats like "shit" )
- La garde meurt et ne se rend pas !
The guards die, but dont surrender !

After that, the Brittish who brings the Artillery, just grapeshot them

I would've loved to see napoleon's original exile, and then him escaping, convincing nearly the entire French army to join him and the becoming emperor of France again with almost no resistance.
