Home Depot has begun their end of season clearance sale with 50% off on flowering shrubs, Evergreen shrubs, and 25% off on Roses. They also received their red pot inventory and there were many beautiful and unique conifers and evergreens to choose from. The red pots are full regular price. Fall is the perfect time to plant evergreens for year long interest in garden. Heading into the winter months, it is so wonderful to see evergreens in the garden providing interest and structure while all of your perennials go dormant, and your deciduous trees and shrubs lose their foliage. And, all the fall planted spring blooming bulbs are in. They have an amazing selection of fall bulbs. Unique and different varieties than what I have seen in the past. I enjoy these inventory videos because I learn about plants that are new to me or I learn a new fact about a familiar plant. It is very frustrating that my local Home Depot doesn't nearly the inventory or variety that I see in Steph's videos. My big box stores NEVER have the kind of sales that the ones in Steph's area have.

Steph I envy your stores. They have a very meager selection at the Lowes and Home Depot here even though it's a large population county. Last year Home Depot refused to do half off on their shrubs until almost Halloween.

You mentioned your Spruce that has outgrown its space. I wondered if you considered trimming all the bottom branches and making it into a giant topiary. I have done that to several of mine and really love it.

Hi Steph, I’ve had my mums in the ground for several years and they’ve done well for me year after year. But they did flop by the time fall came around so I tried the Chelsea chop this year and they’re beautiful. No flopping and so many blooms. I also find them to be prolific spreaders but they’re easy to pull out. And rabbits and deer never touch them. I’m in MD Z7a

Thank you Steph! I’ve been waiting for our HD to put the shrubs and roses on sale. I was able to get 6 Soft Serve Gold chamaecyparis for $15 each, 2 peach drift roses for $15 each, and 2 Encore azaleas for $10 each. Can’t wait to get them in the ground!

Amazing selection ! In California we don’t have a half off sales or clearance area in Home Depot. They are pilled high in shipping carts and tossed out. 😮
Lowe’s does offer a clearance section though.

Hi Steph! Love your nursery tours. The English Laurel is really nice in the garden for bay leaves! I put about 3 Bay leaves in my spaghetti sauce:) Bay leaves are expensive from the grocery store.
